Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music. Not much to talk about this week, but here goes nothing.
The Foo Fighters have finally given us an album title: Wasting Light. It’s still being given an April 12 release date, and on top of that we’ve been given a video for their song “White Limo.” We also have an official track listing courtesy of their own website:
- Bridge Burning
- Dear Rosemary
- White Limo
- These Days
- Back & Forth
- A Matter of Time
- Miss the Misery
- I Should Have Known
Definitely cannot wait until April 12, or whenever the album goes on pre-sale. This is one I will very likely be preordering.
Congratulations to Train, The Black Keys, Them Crooked Vultures, Muse, Jeff Beck, and Iron Maiden for taking home Grammy awards this past weekend. Muse and Mumford & Sons both played really well, also. Tough luck to M&S for not taking any awards, but there’s always next year. I’m also a bit disappointed that Craig Ferguson didn’t win for Spoken Word (not a fan of Jon Stewart) and that Rush lost to The Doors (REALLY??) in Long-Form Video, but that wasn’t surprising at all. I’m just glad that the rock music is still being honored at least a little bit – although most of the categories weren’t even televised. Congratulations also to Esperanza Spalding for winning Best New Artist – not really my kind of music, but very refreshing to see a very talented musician in a non-mainstream genre win an award like that – especially over Justin Bieber.
Like I said, not much to report on beyond that – music news is a bit slow this week. But there are new additions to the upcoming tour section, so it’s not all boring.
