Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music.
Incubus has a new single out called “Adolescents.” The song is from their upcoming album If Not Now, When? which is supposed to be released in July of this year. You can listen to the song on the band’s website, and you definitely should. It’s a solid tune – it definitely has that Light Grenades sound to it, but it’s still different. I must say, considering Light Grenades came out all the way back in 2006, new Incubus material is really awesome. I’m definitely looking forward to the new album and will keep my eyes open for any new announcements. I would hope there’s a tour coming up, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Speaking of streaming new songs on a band’s website, you can listen to the new Foo Fighters album, Wasting Light, in its entirety on their website. I must say, with the exception of “White Limo,” the entire album is phenominal. I cannot wait for my preorder to be delivered! It’s due out next Tuesday, and I’ll try to have a review of the album once it’s released. Definitely go have a listen – there’s some really great stuff on there. Still waiting on a full North American tour, though. We’ve got some dates here, but only about seven, and nothing in the Philadelphia area. Maybe once the album’s out we’ll get an announcement.
Yes has set July of this year for the release of their new album, to be titled Fly From Here. The album was conceived decades ago, and it was a song that never got recorded. The band says that the new record, a full-length album with the title track being a 20-minute epic, will be a mix of 70’s and 80’s Yes with a modern twist. That sounds pretty awesome to me. On a side note, I’m still waiting for a set list from the 3/30 show at Penn’s Peak, but it seems like they’ve been playing these songs consistently on the Rite of Spring Tour: “Parallels,” “Tempus Fugit,” “Yours is No Disgrace,” “Soon,” “Close to the Edge,” “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Machine Messiah,” “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” “Long Distance Runaround,” “Starship Trooper,” and “Roundabout.” I’ll keep looking for an official set list, though.
