Weekly Update 5/8 – 5/14

Filed under: Update — rockshowmusic @ 11:20 pm

Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music!  Sorry I didn’t do one of these last week.  My schedule was unbelievably busy.  Honestly not much news to report on.  There are a few things to mention, however.

Philly’s own Halestorm was part of the Avalanche Tour for a while, and while they were touring with they debuted a new song called “American Boys.”  Now that the band is finished touring, they’re supposedly going to be working on their next album.  I would assume that “American Boys” is going to be a track on the new album.  Considering they only have one full-length album out, Halestorm seems to be doing pretty well for themselves.  I’m very interested in hearing what else they have to offer.  Keep your ears open for this one.

There’s been a bit of talk and more than a few rumors that 30 Seconds to Mars is throwing in the towel after their current tour.  From what I’ve read, it seems like they’ve never actually said anything about breaking up, but it sounds like they’re going to be taking a break.  I’m not entirely sure what exactly is going on at this point, as it’s difficult to separate the facts from the speculation.  Either way, it seems like 30 Seconds to Mars will be a lot quieter once their current tour is over.  I’ll keep my eyes open for updates to try to figure out exactly what’s happening.

Dave Matthews Band has announced that individual day tickets are available for the Atlantic City festival.  The price is $85.  It’s almost worth going at this point, but since I’m already out quite a bit of money due to other concerts I’m going to this summer, I think I’ll have to pass.  Still, this is a great announcement.  Also, the lineup for each day has been released.  Head on over here for all the latest news.

That’s all I’ve got for now.
