Weekly Update 6/5 – 6/11

Filed under: Update — rockshowmusic @ 11:13 pm

Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music!

Incubus dropped a bomb on us – tour dates!  Starting in Denver at Red Rocks on August 17, Incubus will be touring the US in support of its new album, If Not Now, When? set to drop on July 12.  The current tour dates go through October 9, and according to the website they’ll be playing at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden on September 10.  That’s a Saturday, which means hopefully I’ll be able to make it.  We’ll have to wait and see.  I haven’t seen any information about when tickets go on sale, so I’ll keep my eyes open for updates.  This sounds very promising!

Paramore released a new single from the upcoming Transformers movie soundtrack.  The song, called “Monster,” is available for download as of today, and it’s very different.  I don’t know if the different sound is for the movie or just a new direction for the band (with the departure of the original drummer and guitarist), but it sounds great!  Very dark, and less pop than usual, which is a plus for me.  It definitely proves that the band can continue without the departed members.  I believe they are supposed to be working on a new album after finishing up whatever tour dates they have going now.  Aside from “Monster,” another song song surfaced a while ago called “In the Mourning.”

No new artists added.

Artists updated:  Seether (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces, Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray), Paramore (Monster – Single)
