Pearl Jam & Rush – New Album Updates

Filed under: News — rockshowmusic @ 12:19 am

Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music!

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has made comments about work on a new album.  We got the new song “Ole” a week or so ago, but apparently the band has about half of the new album recorded.  This has been a big year for Pearl Jam, what with celebrating their 20th anniversary and all.  They’ve been doing interesting stuff all year – rereleasing older albums with tons of extras, doing a new documentary, playing festivals, etc – and now apparently they’ve been working on a new album.  Hopefully we’ll get more updates in the near future, because new album would imply new tour, and Pearl Jam is near the top of my bucket list.

The new Rush DVD – the Time Machine Tour live in Cleveland – has had a fluctuating release date for a while, but November 8 seems to be the official word.  In addition, it appears that there will be a live CD release with it that contains the live audio of the show, and also a vinyl version of the Moving Pictures material subset of the show.  All of this is supposed to be released on November 8.  In addition, a recent post on Rush fansite has revealed that pre-production for the new album, Clockwork Angels, is currently underway and that the recording process should resume in mid-October.  Definitely looking forward to all of this!  (Source)
