Welcome Home, Josh Eppard & New Coheed & Cambria Album

Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music!

It’s official as of today – Coheed & Cambria’s original drummer, Josh Eppard, has returned to take the place of the recently departed Chris Pennie.  Eppard had left the band years ago and was replaced by Pennie (though Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins did the drums on Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV Volume 2: No World For Tomorrow), but according to the band their recent musical direction caused them to part ways with Pennie.  Yesterday a countdown appeared on the band’s website, counting down to a video tease of what sounds like new material played by Claudio, Travis, and a mysterious drummer.  Today, it was revealed that the drummer is Josh Eppard, and that he has officially rejoined the band.

As if that wasn’t enough, the band also announced that they are officially working on their next album.  According to the announcement, the band is already three songs into the new album.  They are working with Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner, the producers responsible for the band’s first three albums.  Looking forward to whatever comes next!
