New Pretty Reckless EP & Some Release Dates

Welcome back to The Rock Show, where it’s all about the music!

The Pretty Reckless have put out a brand new EP with 5 tracks called Hit Me Like a Man.  Two of the tracks are live versions of older material (“Make Me Wanna Die” and “Since You’re Gone” from their debut album), and the other three are new songs (“Hit Me Like a Man,” “Under the Water,” and “Cold Blooded”).  It’s a very promising release, and hopefully it means there’ll be a new album sometime in the near future.  Definitely check it out, it’s really great.  And don’t be surprised if one of the new tunes makes it into the playlist for this Sunday’s show…hint, hint.

In other news, there have been a few new release dates for upcoming albums in the near future.  I’ve mentioned before that Shinedown’s new album, Amaryllis, is due out on March 27.  In addition, The Mars Volta’s new album Noctourniquet and Alter Bridge’s new live album are scheduled for release on the same day.  Of Monsters and Men are going to be releasing their debut album, My Head is an Animal, on April 3 – they currently have an EP out called Into the Woods, which is a really great start, and it really makes me look forward to the full collection.  Finally, the biggest news – Rush’s Clockwork Angels has been given a May 29 release date, so mark your calendars.  They day of reckoning is finally within reach!
